Where my passion for health, wellness and fitness stems from…
Sports and Fitness
My father was a two-time Olympian in Water Polo, in the 1964 and 1968 olympic games. Naturally he encouraged and pushed me to play sports, and tennis was the sport that he chose for me. I didn’t end up a pro, but something better happened. I learned about discipline, practice and creating good habits – three things I can’t say I’ve always had ingrained in me, but I’ve known how to apply them when I needed.
During my tennis years, I met a naturopath who helped me heal a chronic elbow injury. He taught me about inflammation, the downfalls of eating processed foods and the importance of eating organically and from local farms.
I took this knowledge with me to the University Of Western Ontario where I was that weird guy who had to know every ingredient served by the residence cafeterias and who made homemade meals for his roommates (I thank my mother for that).
After finishing up my Kinesiology degree, I headed back to Toronto and landed a position at the best health club in the world – the “Google” of Health Clubs – The Toronto Athletic Club. It was there that I shared my knowledge of nutrition and fitness to anyone who would listen.
In 2015 I completed my holistic nutrition designation from the Edison Institute of Nutrition and I am now a Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner and/or Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner
Speaking and Consults
I’ve now given over 100 speeches (including a TEDX talk) ranging from corporate organizations, government organizations and to medical doctors and consulted people about health from all over the world. If I could give a talk about health, nutrition, cooking, eating habits every hour of everyday, I would!
What I write on this site comes from a mixture of personal experiences, scientific research and stories from those who have shared them with me that I thought would be valuable to you and your wellbeing.
